Content Management WordPress Theme
I find it to be a really exciting time for Content Management Systems. Right now you have three pretty amazing open source solutions in the space right now – Joomla, Drupal and WordPress. I include WordPress in that group because, while on the surface WordPress was designed for blog publishing, in the right hands – WordPress can be used for robust, complex web publishing and application programming.
What is a Content Management System
According to the all knowing wikipedia a Web CMS is
An idea of managing a webpage. The whole content of a webpage will be incorporated into a database, where a non web administrator staff with little knowledge can manipulate the whole content easily with less hurdle within a little time frame.
Since WordPress meets all of the criteria WordPress is a Content Management System. Using a variety of plug-ins plus WordPress’s built in page template ability, a creative developer can really push the limits of how content is output. I like to use everything that WordPress has to offer like the standard content field, the excerpt plus all of the custom fields you can add. By using well defined and well named custom fields, you can direct the casual user to make updates to even the most complicated pages.
